if so.. what difference does it make.. OTHER THAN THE SEARCH FOR KNOWLEDGE...

if so.. you will very soon be cutting them to the ground.. digging them out.. drying them and storing them in the basement for winter .. or they will not come back next spring.. in most of z5 ...

actually.. the unrolled leaf i usually associate with front damage in spring.. could this have been there that long????

The bacterial wilt Xanthomonas causes such affected leaf margin and necrotic spots. When Callaôs leaf hangs down, water stays on the margins and lets the bacteria germinate. Xanthomonas needs very much mangenese, and when the bacteria die, brown Mn is left around the necrotic sports and leaf margins. I cured plants with iron citrat in foliage fertilizers. You also can add Fe-chelates to the soil or substrate when you set out the plants.
