you might want to try the fruit ... or tropical fruit forums ...

and when you do.. include where you are.. potted.. etc ... the cure to this may rely on understanding.. how you are growing it ...

i wouldnt bet a nickle on a bug/pest ... but we dont do fig in MI ....

ronalawn82, I don't think so as the tree is a White Genoa which is self fertile and I don't belief the fig wasp is attracted to the self fertile varieties - always possible though I guess, however even if it is do they actually damage the fruit? I thought they were the pollinators. I have googled this and other pests for images that look similar to mine but am struggling to find anything that looks like my fig damage. I will keep a keen eye out on the tree to see if I can see any potential perpetrators :) Thanks for the suggestion.

No pollinators needed for your fig.
And even if they were, they wouldn't cause that effect.

Doubt it's due to critters. Perhaps an environmental disorder of some kind.
