What happened to my Loofa and Is My Garden Infected?

I started growing Loofa from seeds and it did amazingly well; initially, anyway.

It got sick, but I am not certain with what - it had Leafminer, which I wasn't too concerned about, but it also had something else, I think. I took a photo of one of the leaves and posted here (writing from my iPad):

I also noticed a mold in my yard - the first time I noticed it was by an old tree stump, but now it is where the loofa was in the mulch.

I just want to find out if I have to worry about treating the area with something or not - I am also trying to grow strawberries, broccoli, lettuce and some perrenials, but all but one plant seem to be doing fine.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
