Problems with spider mites - anyone use Neem oil?

I have lost over 100 rooted rose cuttings due to infestation with spider mites. I started over and stuck 170 cuttings in November, and now I have 72 rooted cuttings. I have been watching them like a hawk, and once a day, I spot a leaf with little clear-white spots that marks where the mites are sucking the leaf juices out. I strip the leaf off, and spray down the plant with insecticidal soap. I read that Neem oil will smother them, so I bought a gallon of it. Neem Oil is almost like solidified honey. How do I use it? Do I melt it down a little, mix some with warm water and (insecticidal) soap, and how much do you mix with the water. Help. I've never used this before but I would like to really deal the spider mites a blow, and maybe even get rid of them I also bought some Avid miticide, but they were out of stock, so I have to wait. Anyone have any experience?
Thanks, Paul Mozarowski.

I did a search here and found the thread!

Looks like a dilution of rubbing alcohol is a good carrier. Needs to be warmed a bit, mixed with water 1.5 tsp per quart or thereabout, use a soap to help emulsify, and go nuts!!!

Here is a link that might be useful: Garden web thread - please tell me about Neem oil!

RE: Problems with spider mites - anyone use Neem oil?

Spider Mites are mostly a problem on plants that live in a too arid climate, it is too dry. Many people start pest control with the most potent product they can find which usually is a waste of time, energy, and money since with Spider Mites the best control is the easiest and cheapest, mist the plant a couple of times a day to raise the humidy around it.
