| I am sorry to hear about the terrible cold in places it shoulnd't be..20's down to Miami????
How many plumies were lost in those temps...Although that is what we get for highs here, I still have sympathy for all of you not use to it, and your plants!
Please let us know..

I just got to West Palm and haven't seen any cold damage at all to the plants. It's around 60 during the day and nighttime temps are unusually cold but aren't lasting a long time. I'm not sure how low it dropped last night but by 8am it was already up in the low 40's. Further north is another story. It's as cold in Jacksonville as it is in DC!

I'm in SW Florida in the Everglades and I have alot of plumies in big pots. Mine are fine and we got down to 30. I was worried about all my recently cut "sticks" so I brought them in on the second night of bitter cold. But I can't tell how the in-ground plants are yet since they were already pretty leafless. One rainbow I planted in a friend's yard was still blooming just before the cold even though it was all rusty, and the remaining flowers and leaves are now all brown and gross. Don't know if that means the whole thing is dead. Boy, I hope not - that was a gorgeous, highly fragrant big baby I grew from an expensive cutting! Thanks for your concern, Mike. I, too feel for those who are sad because of their losses to the cold. Susie

I'm in NW Florida - Panama City - my Plumerias look fine - lost a few leaves, but still standing. They are in the ground.

I'm in Apopka, just north of Orlando and I had all my Plumeria in large pots that I brought into the garage to protect them from the multiple nights of freezing weather. Right now my Aztec Gold is still blooming in my garage. All but one of my plumeria are still holding all of their leaves which is really suprising to me as I thought they would go dormant.

I'm in south Texas and all of mine look fine, I probably have around 30 varying in size. I did cover all of the ones in the ground, and the ones in pots I put into my greenhouse. So far so good. Looking forward to spring time though!

That's great everyone, I am so happy all your plants had the protection of great hands behind them. You are all vigeleant plumie growers who know what you are doing! For those that didn't have a way to protect them, and didn't have enough time, I am sorry for you all..:-( Bravo... Mike

The cold in Jax. Fl. was historic but my 31 Plumies made it through! They are all in 3 and 7 gallon containers. The 7's came inside and the 3's into a heated greenhouse which never dropped below 40 degrees. It was a 10 day nail biting experience I hope to never go through again!

I'm in the Daytona area. Four pots came into the garage for 4 days but 3 stayed outside (in the ground). Eveyone is fine and the temps only got down to 29°.
