I really don't know anything about adenium. Is it of the cactus family? I have heard it mentioned on this board. Does it grow outside only? Your plumeria is beautiful.

I am tempted to try growing adenium, but I am attracted to the Plumies because of the aroma. I have asked before, but I forget, do adenium flowers smell nice?

Adenium doesn't smell as much as Plmeria.

Adenium belongs to the family that includes Medinilla, and they grow a lot of them in Thailand, together with Plumeria. Adenium is much easier to grow than Plumeria because it stays compact according to the pot size (you may decide to never repot it) and also because it is very easy top make graftings and have different colors on the same plant.

I have both. I love the smell of Plumeria alot. If I were to choose which one to grow, in the only other sunny spot in my home, it would be plumeria.
I too choose fragrance.
The upside to choosing Adenium though, is that you are almost always gaurenteed constant blooming, that is, if it is grown in a sunny hot window. You should see the one I have growing at work!

Plumies have my vote. I really don't care for the trunks. IMHO

The flowers and fragrance of the Plumeria gets my vote. I do like the trunk on the Adenium though. How large is that Adenium in the photo? Can't tell if it is a giant, or just the camera angle!

Now that I have access to a computer that lets me see pictures, I have a question rinomanfroni.

Is that a picture of you plumies at top? It is cute.

But, does it have a lack of flowers because it was almost past blooming when you took that picture, or did you get that many blooms from the start?
