Is the trunk soft at all? If not, it may be fine. If it is soft then you may have to cut. It looks like it has shot off 2 new branches so it may have sealed itself off. Examine the trunk for softness and let us know.

Was the top cut or broken off? If that happens in the future you can seal it with caulk so it won't rot.

For the pictures, if you upload to a sharing site like Flikr or Photobucket then you can copy & paste the HTML codes into the message, through the Garden Web editor thing it only allows one at a time.

elucas, No, the trunk is not soft at all....
I do not know if it was broken off or cut off, it was thrown away and I wanted to save it..

So that is basically a center cut? Looks like you sealed the top with LET, correct? I have a center cut rooting. I sealed the top and bottom with LET, and now have 2 nodes sprouting.
That lower pic is different from the top, perhaps the top pic was taken earlier? The bottom pic looks like you have a couple of nice shoots growing. The tips look like they are waking up so my advice is to let it continue to grow. Good luck....

I think it will make it provided the stem is green and solid too. It won't be a pretty branching but in a few more years it will have grown through it. Good luck

DelWH and Kms2- Thank you for your quick response/input... the 2 pictures are the same plumeria, I didn't do anything to it, it was thrown out and I took it home to hopefully save it..
I will let it be since the stem is green and there are no soft spots either... Will hope for the best and thanks for the Good Luck :)
