 o
To cut or not to cut....a little help please

Posted by uglyhair 10 (My Page) on

We had a fall heat wave and some of my cuttings from 2010 got burned. See the stems of the plumeria are dried out (dead). The plants themsleves had leaves last summer and did fine.....Should I cut them and repot in spring?

Thanks, Mike

take a cardboard center of a toilet paper roll or a paper towel roll, split it up the side and snap it around the stem. This will keep the sun off the burn. If the plant improves and leafs out let it be if you see a problem you may need to cut and re-root. Bill

I have used tree pruning spray in the past but now that I think about it the black may heat up the stem even more.
