| Hello all,
I have a San Germain that is REALLY due to be translanted. However, it has small inflos on it for the first time ever. I think it needs to be transplanted, but I'm afraid of shocking the plant and losing the inflos. What should I do?

| Welcome, fellow Ohioan!!!!! I was beginning to think I was the only one here from our great state! I've been growing plumies since 2006, after my cousin from TX gifted me with an Aztec Gold. That one has turned into about 130! lol These plants are highly addictive, and very beautiful. I'm going to let one of the more experienced plumeria growers answer your question. I just had to welcome another Ohioan. Enjoy the forum, it's great! |

| Others may disagree, but I would move it to a larger pot in April or May, just before it starts to grow. BUT, don't water it a lot until it truly is growing large leaves. Be careful when you repot it, that you don't injure or break a lot of the tender roots -- unless the roots are really twining around the pot (rootbound) -- in that case you may need to score the rootball a bit. I'm sure others will offer better advice. |
