Well this blows!

I was about to get either Kellogg's Amend or Gardner & Bloome Building compost for my new garden, but then I decided to verify that they are OMRI certified. Well I just learned that they are most certainly not. And with good reasons. They use human waste in many of their products! Seriously? HOW are they getting away with this?? I already have enough health issues as is, I do not need to add more heavy metal to my garden. :(

Dang, now my local horse manure is sounding real good! The only problem w/ the horse manure is that they are cured in 35 days at high heat (160 degrees)?? From all the research I have done it said at least 3 months to fully composted. Anyway this process is called aerated static pile composting. So I don't know if I can trust this source?

As of now it doesn't look like I will be amending...

What about just adding gypsum to the bottom like Bill suggested and then plant in 100% native soil. Then cover with horse manure then mulch. This process will take longer and my plants may not like the clay soil but the alternative is worse.

If I didn't already spent so much money on Plumerias, English Roses, fruit trees, etc... I would just wash my hands of this and let the landscapers do whatever they want.

Here is the place I was thinking of getting the horse manure. Does it sound ok?
