Grafting Question (Laura help!)

Hi all!

Got one for the forum. So I'm a newbie to Plumeria--I purchased my first plumie from Florida Colors. It was a Dwarf Singapore Pink. I say was b/c it has actually died from the graft up. The Florida Colors folks were amazing and are sending me a new plant--they said this happens occasionally. I was upset that this may have been my fault, newbie and all. But I have orchids, citrus, figs, assorted herbs, jades, aloe, etc. all in containers and living quite happily. So...long story...there now is a shoot/branch growing off the plant below the now dead graft. Does the forum have any clue what it might be? Will it be worth keeping beyond the curiosity factor (which is very high) And what should I do with the dead graft (cut it off?) and how do I cultivate the new shoot? And will it be a Dwarf and one that doesn't go dormant (aka have the DSP traits)? I have limited space...

Thanks!

Liz
