Dying inflo

All, I received a rooted plumeria with an inflo. There were some dark spots on the inflo-- ? Damage? Which has progressed. I cut part of it off but not all of the brown inflo. Will the inflo dry and fall off or should I worry that black tip will set in?

RE: Dying inflo

Sorry don't have pics but the area halfway up the inflo was dark with possible damage when I got it and has since spread on the inflo only, which became soft and brown. I cut the top portion off.
