Rust

I have a P. pudica with a horrible case of rust. In all the years I've had plumies I've never had a case of rust. The foliage on this plant is very thick and just glancing at it, it looks very healthy, but I noticed some leaves with discolored spots. I pinched off an infected leaf and the underside was just covered with fluffy orange spots. I picked off the leaves that I could see had rust. Now what do I treat it with? Do I spray/dust the undersides of the foliage or will whatever treatment move thru the leaf the way that Forbid does? I have copper dust but it doesn't mention rust as one of the things it controls. Do the spores live in the soil and should I repot it in a fresh mix?

I have the same plant with the same problem. I just purchased it and had it in the house for 2 weeks when I started to see rust. I got some Garden Safe Neem Oil to try on it. I've read once it's present it doesn't go away, so changing the soil wouldn't do anything if that's the case.

I hav tried this on my orange rust.. it did help!!!

Thanks Laura. I might have to resort to that. I just don't like to use pesticides, if possible. I only use Forbid for Broad mite control on my brugs and that one is fairly mite and white fly specific. I rely mainly on beneficial insects for pest control and using a broad spectrum insecticide will kill them.
