Having fun in Florida!

Just got back from South Florida. Moonie, and Laura, I was nice to see that both of you were thinking about me! We stayed in South Beach for 2 days. On Monday we drove down to Homestead and met up with Carol. She truly is a sweet lady. I called her to verify her street address, and she told me she would be waiting for me at the end of her driveway. I got right into her golf cart and she took me on a tour of her plumeria collection including her nursery. I got to pick any plumeria flower I wanted to. She explained that tropical storm Debbie had destroyed many of her inflow.Apparently, there were many flowers at the base of the trees.

I saw many plumeria that really impressed me. One being Chompoo Jack. The flower was red, yellow and pink, and HUGE!

I also saw some of the many Moragne hybrids. Mimi, Cyndi, Jeannie, Kimi....

I did get pictures.of many trees but there on the IPOD, and I have yet to learn how to download them.

Carol has great deals on her plumerias. If you go and visit the nursery, you can get your plumeria on sale for $5.00 off!

Needless to say , I came home with for four. I really wished I had grabbed the steno petals....may not have that name right. I am pretty sleep deprived right now. We were up early every morning, and didn't go to bed untill after 3 am most nights. What can I say. Miami night life is so awesome!

Hey Andrew- very glad to hear you had a great trip to FL! To spite living in FL I have only been to South Beach once, but it reminded of Vegas in that it is a place where you have a great time but then need a sleep-cation when you get home! lol.

The weather really cleaned up after the first part of last week, thankfully. It sounds like Carol gave you a great tour... that is awesome service. I'd love to visit there myself.

Glad to hear you are having a good time Andrew. Must have been fun to go to FC. Some day I hope to be able to do that. If you flew how are you getting them home? Enjoy the rest of your stay. Peg

Welcome back! Yep Miami = good times.

But I bet the tour w/ Carol was awesome! I too hope to do that one day. Get some rest... :)

Hi guys and gals! I have had a wonderfully trip to Florida. I can't wait to get home to see how my tricals are fairing. I had 4 or 5 with large inflows and my DSP was getting ready to open its first buds. Also my Thai Super round and Sariah Curlu Pink.

Today, I trimmed the 4 plumeria I bought. To answer how I will get them home, I will bare root them on Friday night, and I will bag them up and carefully pack them into my carry on. I won't check the bag, in fear that they will get broken.

Last trip here I brought home a nice sized Carrie mango and I boxed it up and carried it onto the plane.

Well time to go shopping again. Take care everyone, and if your ever in the Homestead FL area, I highly recommend Florida Colors. Carol and her husband Luc, they are very passionate about there plumeria, and take great care of there visitors to there nursery. Giving us bottles of cold water and even letting us use the bathrooms in there own home.
