My front yard planted with Jeannie Moragne and 'rainbow mist' from a private local seller. I think it looks like or is Lani.

My Lani, which was a gift from a generous West-Coaster, has a rose scent. Pretty unique.

Now, we all have different perceptions of fragrance.

But that might be a clue to whether it's really Lani.

    Hey Mike,
You must have good neighbors, I've heard some story's about plumie bandits taking cuttings or even stealing whole plants from people's front yards. I decided to move mine to the back yard after hearing about the bandits, I couldn't stand to loose just 1! Ill be sending some positive vibes your way to help ward off the rif-raf!

    Peace & happy growing

Thank you, it does have a light rose scent so I guess it's likely Lani.
Guess I've been fortunate regarding theft but not too sure if that concern would dictate where I plant my trees. I do have cutting back ups.

Maybe it's not Lani after all based on Bill's picture.

Lani can get more red and less yellow in more heat and humidity so it still could be.

Hey Mike, my Lani looks exactly like yours. Same flower shape and color. Don't know where you are located, but I'm very near beach in Cali. Maybe that's the difference between yours, mine and Bill's. No matter what, I love Lani. She is definitely a keeper. Mary

Mine looks more like yours...more red and less yellow.

We're having very hot weather right now. But for some reason, I'm not noticing the rose scent as much as I recall other years.
