If they are rooted, treat like any other tree.. They don't have leaves? But are rooted? If rooted,, wet/ dry..

Protect from sunburn if no leaves..

Glad you have some mid cuts.. They are nice to have and will branch out ..

Thanks Laura! Yes they are rooted 'stumps' that are a few feet tall and do not have any leaves or nubs yet....they were cut just before I got them so I sealed the top cut with latex caulk...I will let them get pretty dry before watering I suppose to try to avoid rot. I am excited to see how many branches come out even though they are not an 'ideal' tree...mid-stem cuts need love too!

That's a great question, Stephen.

I think Laura's right. You want enough moisture so when branches really start there's enough energy that they'll form a good size and not too thin.
