Thornton's Lilac / Saved

I saved a few cuttings from a construction job site on Longboat Key, Sarasota, Fl. I found an entire plumeria tree all chopped up in a construction dumpster,. This was last November 2012, so that time of the year almost all the leaves were gone and not in bloom. So I gathered several cuttings that were hanging out of the top of the dumpster.

There's not much information on Thornton's Lilac" "This is one of the original Thornton varieties but is not registered with the PSA since the name is not officially accepted.
I was told the seed from this plumeria will not produce the same flower and that cuttings are the only way to propagate this plumeria cultivar.

I would love to hear from anyone who has more info on Thornton's Lilac?

I was very fortunate to see it bloom this summer!
