Any kind of brown or black is bad news!

You will need to re-cut a little bit at a time until the brown is gone and then clean your cutter and wipe it down with rubbing alcohol before you make the final cut so the fungus doesn't spread.

Then let the cutting sit for at least a week in the shade to dry out before attempting to root again.
