My first plumeria bloom!

This was a cutting I purchased in February and began rooting in march. Here's the first bloom today. It was labeled as a Moragne #23, sent as a bonus cutting from Derrick. I highly doubt that's what it is but I will wait to see how it looks once its more fully established after a couple of seasons. The smell is strong (at least in my opinion). Right before it opens it has a strong galangal smell. The next day smells like sun tan lotion, then as it fades has a wonderful rose like smell. It's a bit of a brighter yellow than the picture shows it to be. Love it so much!

wow! That is really a bright yellow! Derrick does send out nice cuttings. There seems to be some discussion about cuttings not being the same as from other sources. For the price I ain`t complaining! So far very happy with mine and they are starting to bloom.

That's is nice but I'm afraid derrick got that one wrong also. Moragne 23 has red/pink buds and more white in the flower. That is a very nice yellow whatever it is.

Yeah I figured after seeing pics online. The smell is to die for though so I'm happy whatever it is! :)

What a great feeling of success., even when it is a wonderful yellow. I think it is beautiful and as long as you are happy.. Then it's a winner!!!

I usually do not like white or yellow blooms, but I like this bright yellow bloom. Why don't you just re-name it. something with banana in the name like sunset, treasure, yellow, feast ,or crush. The wonderful smell is a bonus. Barbra

Whatever it is, it's beautiful, and the scent sounds fantastic! Sometimes you're expecting one plant and get something even nicer or more unique. Happened to me a few times! After i get over the initial irritation, I've found that a few of my favorites were mistakes!

How exciting to see your first bloom!! I remember that so well. :)

I'm all about scent so if it smells great then I don't care as much about the appearance. Great job on getting it to bloom so quickly!

Congrats Kristopher ! Don't give up on your new bloom too soon. Here's what the 1st bloom looked like on my NOID and here it is now. Looks similar to yours. The yellow is very vibrant in both. I have no idea what it might be as I thought maybe a Aztec Gold at first, NOT. It lost all of it's tags so didn't even know color or a supplier. Peg
