| Hi!
I'd like to know what name variety of plumeria cutting these guys sell. Do they grow to produce blooms looking like the photo attached to the top of the cutting or is it all a total gamble? They come in white, yellow and pink from what I've seen. |

| You take your chances! My friend sent me three cuttings (yellow flowers) from one of the ABC store in Maui last August and only one of the three are having some claws coming out now- after nearly a year. Of the other two, one I threw out because it was rotted and the other keeps on sending claws which immediately turn black. I might have to throw that one out too. So only one out of three might make it. I had better luck in purchasing a cutting (pink flowers) from a botanical garden I visited in Maui the year before. It is nicely putting out leaves now. As for names of the flowers, there is no name on them. Like you said, they are yellow, pink or white. |

| Hey Mailin, I would say that buying these Plumeria at the ABC store is the beginner way to introduce someone on how to grow Plumeria!! They do come in different colors like you said including red...I purchased every different color that I could get my hands on... I did label them as to the color on the package...but they still haven't bloomed yet! Every plant that I grew from the cuttings did root correctly, so I think that it's a great way to get aquainted with these plants...besides the price is right...I think I paid $3.99 for each plumeria cutting. Enjoy your cutting from Oahu...they have alot of sentimental value since you brought them back from your vacation...that's the way I feel about the ABC cuttings...they may not be "Hybrids" but they are fun to root and watch them grow!!! And yes they will bloom, it will just take a year or two ( one of my new cuttings did have an inflo/bloom after it started forming leaves) It was a yellow bloom! I thought that I had a special plant since it bloomed early...but after reading from this forum, it does happen every once in a while...it just slows down the rooting process of the plant. Enjoy your ABC cuttings...they are just fine Plumeria Plants!!! Laura |

| All five of my ABC's bloomed true to their label. :) I have no idea as to the variety, though. |

| This was my first plumeria! I brought a couple back from Honolulu about 10 years ago after my wife and I became completely infatuated with the flowers during our week there. As I recall, someone told me to just stick it in the soil in pot and it would grow. I probably just used some regular potting soil but somehow it managed to root and eventually bloom. Sadly though, after a couple of years I did manage to kill it, probably from overwatering or just not having enough drainage for it in the pot it was in. Fortunately someone I knew later gave me some other cuttings that I rooted and I was well on my way to the plumie addiction we all share! I don't know how often the ABC stores turn over their stock, but I would guess the age of the packaged cutting has a lot to do with chances of success. Though, I don't know if there is any date or designation of age on the package. Kevin |
