Here in Calif., Ryan Chelsea has such a beautiful soft pink that is unusual. In the heat it darkens up and shows a yellow center.

dave, I don't live in Virginia or Texas so I really do not see hot weather. We have not had one day in the nineties this year and most are in the low seventies. I have seen pictures from Emerson that gave it the darker look. We are having a very cool summer this year with fog still showing in the mornings in August which I have never seen.

Bill, I can't imagine a summer that's not hot! I've visited parts of LA in August and it felt hot to me...like Pasadena, Burbank, even Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. I did not realize it can be that cool for so long!

this is a record cool summer for us and the plumerias hate it. I am right between Huntington and Laguna and although this morning was actually sunny, the temperature at noon is only 75. Half my plants may not even flower this year. I was expecting a good summer this year.

You are having record lows and we are having record highs. The other day was the first time in 2 months that the temp was below 90.
