Confession of a Plumieholic

Hi friends,

I know you will understand for I fear regular folks won't.

One minute I was sitting at home and the next I was at JJ's!

{{gwi:1189949}}Fuji Mist... more pink than purple. But John said it was in the greenhouse so the colors will improve. But what really sold me on Fuji Mist was her AMAZING sweet fragrance. You all know what a sucker I am for fragrance!

{{gwi:1189950}}Maybe in time she will become more purple. But even if she doesn't I absolutely adore the scent so she's a keeper in my book. :)

{{gwi:1187431}}I had to get Queen Amber for DD... it is her namesake after all.

{{gwi:1187432}}Again the colors are not as intense but hopefully in time she will get darker. She's truly a beauty regardless. Her size and softness just captured my heart and I was lost. But it was her sweet fragrance that sealed the deal for me. Had to take her home.

{{gwi:1189951}}My patience paid off this time. I had wanted a Cherokee Geisha since last year but the 5G John had just finished blooming so I opted to wait until now. Well this 5G has two inflos out of 3 tips! Woohoo!! John has one other 5G blooming right now and she is GORGEOUS!!

{{gwi:1189952}}Delightful... I didn't mean to get another white/light tree but she's soo beautiful and her scent is to die for! I don't know why I never heard/seen her before until now. Large flowers, green foliage and sweet fragrance... what's not to love. Planning to put her in place of my Champaca in the front yard. What a beautiful tree.

{{gwi:1189953}}Here is Delightful in 15G. I put Fuji Mist 1G in front to give you an idea of how large Delightful is. Loving her!

{{gwi:1189954}}Last but not least... Orange Jack. Never heard of her but the second I saw her I knew I had to take her home. Breathtakingly beautiful. John's pic on his website did not do justice to this beauty!!

{{gwi:1189955}}Her fragrance is medium sweet spicy. Flowers are large and thick, just a gorgeous plant.

Now I really NEED to get some red flowers. Anyway, even if I don't make it Saturday for the Open House I won't be as anxious since I already got my fix. :)

Thank you for listening.
L

Thank you Rox, Chuy and Mark.

Lol James. I wasn't sure I could get a ride. And I wasn't sure if I could drive that far so I didn't want to say anything in case I had to turn around and come back! Took forever to get there but I did it! It was liberating since that was the first time I took the freeway for that long of a distance since Feb 2010. But I can't say I will be going often...it was very painful...my leg is still vibrating right now. Hope the pain let up so I can sleep tonight!

DH is very well aware of my addiction so he is fine. If I am happy he's happy.

So you have Orange Jack too? Is yours blooming? Post pics please?

    Lynn,
Here is a pic from last year of Orange Jack. It does perform in cooler temps but not a profuse bloomer for me, this is a newly opening inflo:

I know your loving the reds and strong pinks this season so you need to get Australia aka True Love HUGE FLOWERS:
Solid Looking more reddish day glow:

    Fading a bit:

With a mix of colors on her from last year:

I might have to try to get to JJ's tomorrow (Thurs) better call the car service..lol

Thank you Laura! How is your Cherokee Geisha doing this year? Will she be blooming?

James, I am so glad to hear your Orange Jack are blooming true to color even in cooler temps. I am tired of seeing orange plumes blooming yellow and reds blooming pink!

That's why I am dying to see Hilo Beauty and Wildfire! Where to get your true love? Thank you!

Lynn-I am cracking up at your covert mission to JJ's.....LOL Very nice haul! So glad you broke down and got Fuji Mist. I've found the fragance to be like a lilac/Jasminey kind of scent. I don't find it to be that strong but I've said for years that my smeller is broken :)

So does this mean your not coming to the open house?

Nicole as they said "If there's a will there's a way". In this case it took some gorgeous plumeria to help me find the courage I didn't think I had. I was scared though that I might not be able to drive home! Plus if I told DH before hand I don't know if he would have encouraged the long drive. But in the end it all worked out.

I'm still waiting to see if DH will drive me on Sat though... it would be less stressful for me so I can enjoy myself. I need to see what the rest of his work week looks like before I throw it at him.

Yes to me Fuji Mist and Queen Amber are very sweet. Since both are so young I'm expecting the fragrance to get quite strong as they mature. For example, last year my CA Sunset smelled good but not great. But then this year she's right up there w/ Rhonda in the scent department. So I'm beyond thrilled. Glad James talked me into keeping her!

    Lynn,
I just woke up and am deciding if I feel up to JJs today. With rain and my leg/hip issue I do not know yet if I am able to go. If I go I have to arrange a car service as I can not sit upright driving for that long. I am also considering the coaster and getting a car service or rent a car from Oceanside to Vista, but might be more trouble then its worth.

So won't decide anything for a bit till I can gauge my discomfort. So will let you know if you are going to go again today for your red that you wanted there today.
