Just got some cuttings from a friend and some from Hawaii. Is it too late in Southern California to plant the cuttings? If so then will the cuttings keep until the spring?

I live in La Verne, I was just at a nursery that is in Chino and he said this is a good time to cut and plant cuttings. We still have a couple of good months left.

A friend just purchased 4 cuttings from an ABC store in Maui for me and I just potted them up two days ago. I don't like hot weather but it sure is good for these cuttings! I don't think it is too late. This same friend purchased cuttings for me same time last year and I also potted them up last year and only now one of them is finally growing leaves!

If you have at least 6 weeks of really warm weather yet it should be OK, otherwise use a heat mat. Cold nights will slow it down. Heated soil will speed it up.
