| I am tempted to order this one, but don't know much about it other than general flower color (which I like - somewhat similar to Waimea?).
What is it's growth habit? Is it a good bloomer? What about flower substance and keeping quality?
Can anyone post photos?
Carol at FC seems to promote it.
Thanks in advance! |

Dave, last spring I asked Carol between LH and Lava Flow which I should get and she was unequivocal about LH over LF. I received a two-tip that has grown very well but not so fast it's stretched. Hasn't bloomed yet but is a good-looking plant. Sorry (for both of us) that I can't comment on its blooms. :)

jandey, thanks for responding. I was thinking surely someone must be growing this and has had it bloom, unless it's a newer variety.

I ordered Leone Hoke, Carol told me it was magnificent. I ordered 14 plants, it was the only one that would not leaf out. I contacted Carol and she sent a replacement plant in June. The original plant stem was hard wood, and finally broke off. So I am way behind the other plants I received that are now sending out inflos. It does have Carols stamp of approval. I will only order plants that she tells me are good bloomers for my area. I called her this week, and out of 12 plants, she told me only 6 would be good bloomers, she is so honest. Barbra

I have a Leona Hoke and it is beautiful bloom. Mine hasn't bloomed this year, unfortunately, but it has bloomed the last two years. Honestly, I can't remember if the keeping quality is good or not and I can't remember which fragrance it resembled but I did like it. Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful. I don't think this picture does it justice.

astrl, thanks for the photo! I do like the flower. How large does it get?
Leona Hoke?

Oh and what is the growth like? Tall? Medium? Short?

Sorry... didn't mean to check out on you. I think the flower is about the same size as Waimea (not large but not small) and the growth seems strong. Mine is 4 years old and one of my tallest.

Actually, I looked it up on Florida Colors (where I bought it) and it says medium grower. astrl
