Another tip for Newbies

The fall is the end of the plumeria season depending on where you are it may be soon or as in Calif. it extends into November. However, this is when a number of growers try to unload their remaining stock so some deals show up. Unless you have heat mats and lights, the rooting at this time of the year often ends in failure because the plant wants to go dormant not root. I recommend you make your lists and buy in the spring when cuttings are fresh and the plant has a natural program to grow. Chances of success are considerably higher.

Also do not be freaked if your plants begin to have the bottom leaves turn yellow and fall. It is rejecting the oldest leaves to put energy into tip growth and tip leaves. They will all yellow and fall sometime in the coming months. Just some thoughts. Bill

Every few days I wiggle the inflo stems and if they do not fall off I cut them off because they can rot and spread into the plant.
