Basically, leave it alone. Do not water it. Cut the inflos off carefully so the leaf claws are not damaged. Then forget about it. It will root and is in the process but is slow. Messing with it just asks for trouble. Bill

Yeah... I had terrible luck with cuttings until I finally listened to the advise: Dont water it!" I spray the cuttings with a mist spray bottle but I think the two I'm growing now got watered once accidentally. This time the leaves are growing... I was told to let them go until the leaves are 2 two to 3 inches in length before watering.

It's hard not to mess with them.... And I've found out the hard way... Heh

Good to find you here, Bill, I asked this question before, on Maui Gardens...but I value your opinion more, should I remove the leaves on my cutting(they came already formed,.or...leave them on ?
It's a Kauka Wilder cutting received about a month ago, the cutting is producing some roots earlier than I have anticipated. When the weather was very warm, I also poured some distilled water w/vit. B1 slowly around the inside,when the soil looked dry!!!!
Actually I left it alone for a few days, on a heat mat and on my living room window sill(south exposure), a few minutes ago I decided to put it outside in the sun(today the temp. is a little warmer), that's when I noticed the roots in the container. What do you suggest?

Just leave it be until it grows leaves several inches long. You can mist the tops of the branches but no more water. It needs plenty of roots to deal with water. Do not remove leaves. As the inflos grow a bit taller, I would remove them as you need all the energy to go into rooting and not into flower production, especially this late in the season.

Thank you, Bill, some of the leaves are at least 4 in. long,, with strong roots all around the bottom of the container. I do use a spray bottle, with dist. water and vitamin B1, for the leaves on the tip.
