Anybody want to meet at Island Plumeria Open House Sale (9/28)?

Is anyone coming to the Island Plumeria Open House Sale on Saturday, Sept. 28? It's in Northridge, in the San Fernando Valley (Southern California). It would be great to finally meet some of the people on this board.

There will be 15% off all the plumeria for sale. Plus, this year, Matthew will also have some stock of Jungle Jack varieties!

If anyone is interested, this is a great way to meet and also get some great plumeria for an excellent price.

It took me 4.5 hours last year to decide what to get. This year I'm putting together a list so the Northridge police don't have to escort me out as midnight approaches and I'm still looking and smelling down all the aisles! Also got to meet toomanydogs last year. Hope to meet more people this year.

Can't wait for Island Plumeria's Open House! We will be in line waiting for it to open. His plants are so healthy and happy. Nothing like his Rainbow 36, what a great flower. We'll be seeing you there and if you need to be dragged away again we will be glad to assist.

Too bad it's so late in the year... I'd rather have new plumies starting next spring. But I hope you will post pics here. :)

I plan to make it over there some time today. Either around 11 AM (without the kids) or around 3 PM (with the kids). I know bringing the kids may be dangerous but I live on the edge :-) Plus, they are already plumeria lovers and asked me if I could bring home some blooms, so why not bring them and have them pick one. That way the wife can't tell me not to pick one out!

    Cheers!

Matthew has quite a collection, but I managed to come home with these two beauty's! The first one is a Rainbow 36 and the second one is a Malia. They both have a nice green color and and appear to be quick growers. The Rainbow 36 has a huge inflow, about to bloom, so I'm hoping I'll get one last flourish of color before it get's too cold.

toomanydogs - I'm sorry I didn't get to see yesterday, but I did see your plumies and they look great! If you keep this up, you'll have to change your user name to 'toomanyplumeria' :-)

roxane - You're amazing. You don't even go but still end up coming home with something!

George - Good to see you again and thanks for you're help. I think there's a plumeria delivery business in your future!

Roxanne, here's another pic of your beautiful plumie

Here's another pic of Allison's *toomanyplumeria" (thanks, Dan!) Gold Coast Peachy

And here's a travel size version of Gold Coast Peachy that someone else on this list ordered!

Pics of the sale - first is Matthew the owner in front of his huge greenhouse

    It's pretty big

Happy plumeria shoppers and lots of plants

    Rainbow 36

    Key West Red

I almost got this Musk Rainbow, but my wallet was depleted by this point!

I did get this old school classic, Lei Rainbow, couldn't help myself

Can't remember the name of this one, I think it was just a white pink rainbow

    Here are a few more

I believe this was an Amarron's Curly White seedling

    Magnum Opus

It was a really good sale, lots of fun.

I also picked up a Thai Orange. No inflo, but I should have taken a pic of the mother tree. I did find a pic at FloridaColors.com - this is their pic, not mine, as they sell cuttings of this beauty. Florida Colors pic:

This was a beauty. Couldn't decide between Thai Orange and Lei Rainbow, so I got both. But that's all I got for me, which was truly an exercise in discipline!

Oh, wow, how did I miss this place last year? Looks fantastic!

George, I wish I'd known you wanted Lei Rainbow--we could've picked up a cutting on Kauai for you. That pink/white rainbow just under LR is gorgeous! And the star-shaped dark pink beneath that, too.

Dan, that's a great shot of your plumeria helper! Sounds like you all had a very good day, even those who couldn't make it.

Jandey, I love Lei Rainbow, I should have told you before you went. Feel free to use this as an excuse to go back! Lol.

Given all the nice plumeria there, I was really disciplined.
