This is a nice post and I want to contribute!!

Life does go on in many strange ways. Today I am flying with this guy who friend 's father was killed on American Flight 11 on Septemer 11, 2001.

Yesterday he took his girlfriend to the memorial to be there today to hear his fathers name read. He grew up to be like his dad. A pilot for American Airlines . He went to ask his fathers permission to marry his girlfriend. He found his fathers name on the memorial pool, bent down on one knee in full uniform and purposed to her! How is that for being a strong , proud son who respects his dad to do this. It breaks my heart, but time moves forward ...

My contribution today is to share this wonderful story with you all!
I will also grab my bags and get back on my plane for the rest of the day!

Good morning, Laura.

Waking up with a heavy heart today, remembering vividly the events that took place 13 years ago.

What an amazing story of honor, respect, and love. I wish the best for Thomas Jr. and his new fiance. His father would be so proud of his son.

And the part I liked the best was the statement "...grab my bags and get back on my plane." In our own way each of us picks up and goes back to what we do best day in and day out.

That's how the rest of us honor and respect our fellow Americans.

What a fantastic story. There have been so many lives affected by such a horrible event.
I was in the air that morning flying from DFW to Denver.
Once we had land in Denver, I tried to get hold of my wife and all phone lines were busy. Finally, made contact and she told me about the planes.

K... Thank you! That means a lot because it took everything in me on Friday September 14, 2001 to get back in the air. The best medicine for the heart mind and soul. ". Grab your bags and go.." Mahalo!!!

Lonnie. .. I remember those feelings. I watched some of the news.. I can remember a lot. So I cried a little then turned off the tv and went outside with my flashlight and rescued two frogs from the pool and a baby snapping turtle from the skimmer. Enjoyed my plants and finally relaxed.

Wendi!! Heavy heart indeed. That's why you think about what happened and never forget. Then get back to life and appreciate each day... Xo

Wonderful story Laura, That was a very sad day and I don't think that anyone that saw it in person or on TV could ever forget it. I still cry when I see the unbelievable that happen that day. Barb
