Early in the season I noticed on one of my common yellows an inflo which was producing a reddish stripe on the outside of flowers (visible at the "shell" stage). the flowers would develop fully normal. So I let it be

It wasn't until last night i saw this on a nearly spent inflo on the opposite side of the tree. Its more out of interest that I post it. I am not concerned about tree health or anything.

Anyone else seen something like this?

That's really unusual. Looks like a recessive gene emerged. Never seen anything like it.
