Broken branch

Hi, my name is Andrew, and I have what is probably a simple question to most here. This morning a storm blew over one of my plumeria plants and broke off a branch. I would like to save the branch and create a new plant if possible. But, I have had horrible luck in rooting cuttings.

I'm really not sure what to do, or what I have done wrong in the past. I have roottone and perelite/pumice and all of my attempts have led to a dead branch.

I read earlier, that I should clip all of the leaves off of the broken branch, and that is no problem. I just don't know what to do next? I have read about bag rooting, but I don't know if I have the steps down.

The biggest issue is that my plants are all in pots, and getting very top heavy, and I have been researching how to cut them back and try rooting them. This broken branch has kind of jump started the processes. I can post pictures of my plants if anyone thinks that might help.

Anyway, any and all suggestions or help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Andrew
