I would leave it alone and see what happens.

Jackie, K really knows his stuff. You could do that, or if you really feel like something needs to be done, honestly after 4 days you could take them out and transfer them to new sterile soil and I don't think it would do any harm at all.

Pull away as much of the white stuff as you can with your fingers, scraping some of the affected soil off the top, too. K's probably right that it's nothing to be alarmed about. Often beneficial fungi grow in potting soil and look awful but do no harm. Pre-bagged soils are generally free of dangerous pathogens.

If you're very worried you can try dousing with Spanish water--that's water with a big splash of hydrogen peroxide. It helps keep down pathogens and provides some aeration for the roots. I soak my seeds with it and then douse the soil I plant them in. Seems to help with damping off, too.

I did what Jandey said. I soaked them and them watered them with Spanish water.

Thanks everyone for your help. I held back and just kept an eye on them. The mould seems to be clearing up and I have just seen my first sign of life! :0)
