Cool October Temps = end of season blooms :(

Well the night temps are going to be like 61 tonight, the days in my patch have been in the mid 70s with short days, evening comes sooner and sooner :(

Here are some pics I took today, the cooler temps are effecting color, but still love them:
I was trying to ID this Thai plumie, the tag faded so there was no name on it. Took the orignial pic of the 1st bloom when there was a heat wave of 90 degrees. Now that its cooler the plumie looks different. I do recall I ordered a Sai Thong to compare it to JJ's Golden Ray as in the pics from Thailand and from Sonia they look alike. Since I have both and seen them both bloom and perform, they are totally different:

Looks great as always. That Metallica seems to be popping up everywhere now that the one I ordered has faded slowly.

Thanks.. What do u mean "has faded slowly"? Are you talking about the flower colors or the plants health?
Where did u get yours from?

The plants health. I bought it from Florida colors and it came in and slowly went into decline. I put it into my little green house and check the soil every couple of days with a moisture meter. I hope I cam get it to bounce back but I'm once again looking for a cutting or rooted one.

Ive bought late season rooted plumies from Hawaii, FL, Thailand, Singapore, when they came in they looked ok but soon after looked sickly, even wrinkled. A while later it bounced back and ended up being fine. I think the plant goes through shock because of the environmental and temp changes in fall. The plant was use to warmer weather and humidity, when it gets here it rebels and takes a turn. Give it a chance, I think it will rebound.

I'm always in jaw-dropping awe when I see your pictures! It's like watching a fashion show! Just gorgeous! So sad that it is almost time for the show to end... :-(

I appreciate the info and will wait it out to see what happens. I haven't had to much issues with mail orders up until this one.
