Party foul responding to my own post...but I forgot one.

Singapore Obtusa with another rainbow...look just above the most left bottom branch and you can see the rainbow touching the ground in the background.

K, is that a tall or medium tree, I love the color. I just need to know where to plant it in my 3 tier plumeria flowerbed this spring. I am on the lookout for dwarf or low growing plumeria for the front row. I only have 3 so far, and need 7 more. Barbra

Darn it, why can't my Singapore look like that? I know they're supposed to smell great. That tree must have been heavenly.

Singapore Obtusa has got a slight lemon scent smell to me. My sniffer is not always 100% trustworthy. Some people would say because it spent too much time buried somewhere without sunshine but that's another story.

I first saw that S.O. about 10 years ago and thought it was huge then. Its in a residential neighborhood near Waimea Kuaui on the way to hiking trails that I like to explore. Didn't really know the variety or anything besides "White" back then. I would estimate it to be 40 yrs old based on the house and surrounding neighborhood.

Barbra, its probably a larger growing tree so put it on your back tier of Plumerias. Have a great time at the coast. The weather will be perfect.

Went up to the tablelands today to mareeba for archery, hubby is obsessed n goes every weekend. On the way we go past lots of trees that size. In fact there's a giant yellow orange n white and light n dark pink one a couple of kms down the road from us :) at the moment alot of the trees here though have flowers but not many leaves... It's wierd ... Like big giant sticks with flowers :P
