changing faces of sai thong... my new fav or 2014

I started a thread in late Oct asking what your favorite plumie of 2014 is. Well I've had a change of heart, my Thai Sai Thong that I have had since 2009, is my choice for favorite for 2014. This was the first time Sai Thong bloomed, and was well worth the wait. I noticed that this plumie keeps on changing appearance. Even when it was hot the inflos had numerous flowers with different faces, from almost solid red to yellow grainy with red stripe on the side. The current late November inflos looks different than it did a week ago VS. a couple of weeks ago. The flowers are gorgeous and grainy with contrasting blooms. This is now my favorite for 2014.

So sad that this will probably be the last month or so that I might have flowering inflos. Hope everyone has tucked their babies away for the winter months.

Good morning, James! I can see why Sai Thong became the new fav! She is absolutely stunning! I love the colors (all of them)! They are to die for! How big are those blooms?

I agree with you! I'm also sad that the season is coming to an end. You sure had a nice run, though!! What a season!

Beautiful, let me join to your post , here its is one of my late seasson cutting that started to bloom in aearly autumn and keeps producing flowers, I' move them into a greenhouse to see how they respond in my climate .

I have all of mine tucked in for the season... Lol!! I can hear you laughing !! Yes, they have the upstairs territory here at my house !

So sad to see the season end for you. Maybe you will still have some trees that will surprise you during the end of the season.

Hey hope your doing well along with your plumies.
Well on the bright side we all get a plumie break, and spring will be here soon.
Some plumies I have stay static in their look, like whites, even solid reds for the most part, etc. I really seem to favor the ever changing plumies like a lot of JJ's, and many Thai ones.

Thanks for sharing, loving your pink plumie. Sometimes its hard to ID a plumie when they are rooting, or if its off season for them. She looks so gorgeous now, can only get more beautiful. Cheers
