Been waiting for this one to bloom...

Received from a friend over two years ago now. An e-bay purchase, I believe, as a seedling. About a foot tall when planted, and of course, I have been curious ever since about its flowers. Well, finally...patience rewarded. Plant is now over four feet tall, and the flower diffuses nicely from a yellow center to a near white at the edges with a very strong rose smell. I mean, the fragrance hits you some distance from the plant. Any ideas?

Beautiful! And what a nice late season surprise, especially after your storm.

If it's a seedling, then it's completely unique. Could be offspring of anything, but the strong rose smell could mean it's a Veracruz Rose seedling. Lucky you! Enjoy it! Now you should get some branching, too.
