Seed Pod Question

Crenda 10A SW FL

I was surprised to find another seed pod hiding in my plumeria. However, this one doesn't look like the other one. Both are on the same tree. The one on the right is spread wide like all the others I have seen around, but the one on the left is "closed" and fused at the bottom. Is this normal?

These trees are nothing special (except to me!) as everyone in town has them. This one has a white flower with yellow throat. It is planted near a yellow one and a magenta one. All are NOIDs that I got from friends.

Well - I found it curious. Both pods look healthy. Thanks!
