Suggestion for a Newbie?

| I am a brug gal but would love to add a plumeria to our house. Is there a colorful plumeria that would grow well in a planter that would do well in GA? I looked on ebay for what is going on there and it left me confused.
Thanks, in advance. |

Hi, There's such a wide variety of colors that it's hard to choose just one. Go to floridacolors.com and they have a large selection of named varieties with pictures of the flowers. See what strikes your fancy. If you're looking for a named variety with it's true flower, I would stay away from seedlings. The flower of seedlings may not be true to it's mother plant. Plumerias do well in containers as long as the pot and your soil mix drains well. They don't like wet, soggy roots (wet feet). I don't know what the weather is like in Ga. Generally, winter is not the best time to start a cutting or rooted plant. The plant goes dormant in the winter. Springtime is usually when the plants wake up and the season starts (warmer days and nights). I hope this helps. Good luck, Rick |
