frost damaged plumeria

I hope someone will be able to help me with this question. I have an "Maya" variegated plumeria that is about 4 1/2 feet tall. It bloomed and branched "3 way" a little over 2 months ago. It has been outside and a few weeks ago it was slightly damaged by a light freeze. I didn't intend for this to happen but it did. The tip is now dying back. If I cut the frozen growth point out will the stalk branch out afterwards??? i've had experience before in rooting plumeria from cuttings with the growth point still intact but am not sure what to do now with this damaged one.

Thanks for any help offered here.
David
