It wouldn't hurt to try...

I would use the same method for rooting any other cutting. I would keep it on the dry side though.

These are hard to root ( so I hear). I did try one last season and it was small and it didn't take.. Maybe others will give more advise..

You don't have anything to lose to try and root it. I'm sorry you lost yours.
