What?

I got this at Home Depot this summer labeled plumeria. It does have white milky sap and the flowers look like plumeria but I've never seen one with leaves like this. Put it in the ground, it's about 3' tall right now, losing it's leaves.
Any ideas?

Hi,
That's a Plumeria. It's a pudica called, "Bridal Bouquet". Pudicas are an evergreen variety. The plant tends to be very compact and more like a small shrub. The blooming season is also quite long. In optimum conditions, they will stay green, but I've noticed when the weather gets cold, mine will drop it's leaves.
Good luck and happy growing.

That is without a doubt a plumeria pudica aka bridal bouquet. I fist saw this plant in St thomas and really really liked it. I already knew it existed and knew it was definitely a plumeria, but it had so many blooms on it unlike other plumies at that size.
I just got one a few weeks ago, but its still young. It is an evergreen plumeria and probably the only one that can bloom in the average house. Its the easiest plumeria in my opinion. Here's the one I saw at st. thomas...

that's beautiful, how's the scent?

That variety doesn't have a scent but is evergreen and easy to care for.

Thanks! It doubled in size after I got it in the ground. We've had a couple of cold fronts recently, it's about 10-15 degrees below normal here. It was a very heavy bloomer.

RE: What?

Tally, did your plumerias survive the past 3 nights of freezing weather? I put my potted ones in my greenhouse and they look OK. The ones outside that are anywhere from 1' tall to 6' tall seem to have survived the freezing weather, but I do have them all covered with blankets. I'll know more later after I get the blankets off of them.
