Is this normal growth?

This is my first Plumeria and it has grown quite well it's first year. When I started the cutting, the ends were about 1" across and all the new growth is much larger. The picture is where the new growth started on this limb. The bald spot was my first flower spike. Two things I am interested in. First, will the smaller area below the new growth harden and be able to hold up the larger new growth. Second, are the lines in the picture where the limb is starting to harden as the limb ages or is it something else I should be concerned about.

Jetson15, your plumeria plant looks perfectly healthy to me. It should harden up quite nicely and support your upper growth as long as your plant gets good light, even from high intensity grow lights. The lines look like normal growth from aging. I have about 30 plants. Most are in dormancy but I do keep a few under my grow lights that never go dormant. I have 4 currently blooming under grow lights and a larger plumeria that is upstairs in my living room that has had a couple hundred blossoms. It have been blooming for several months. Good luck!
