I have put sheets on a lot of my plants and some have been moved to under the patio with a towel over them. I even put trashcans to slow down the wind on my plants but am hoping that they will be fine. I really have to many to cover all but some are on the side and with so many together I am really hoping that they will be fine. The next couple of days it is going to be in the high 30's here at night. Hope they will be wrong. Barb

It's strange. I moved to Galveston in 2012, and the low temperature that winter was 37. Last year our temperature got down near our low range in this zone. (somewhere around 25-27 if I remember correctly.)
If the long-range forecast holds through the winter, our low this year will be 38.

I know the Gulf of Mexico has a strong effect on our temps here, but I am amazed at how cold southern California can get. I did a search, and Pacific Ocean temps are about 5 degrees higher than the Gulf outside my door right now.
I hope all of your plants do ok through this. :)

Yikes! I am a little late on the uptake here. I must have been under a rock the past few days because I didn't realize the temps would be dropping so low. I hope all your plumeria made it through the night okay, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that mine did, too.

Happy to report that the frost cloths and Xmas lights worked, or else it just didn't get quite cold enough to do damage here. I saw some scary pix from Riverside (slightly southeast of where I live) - black leaves, etc., so I was a little nervous pulling off the frost cloth today. But so far so good - both trees still have a lot of healthy leaves and a couple inflos still look viable. Hope the rest of the SoCal folks on here made it through okay.
