Very nice island sundog!
Both hardy and tropical lilies and lotus love sun. You could also give it some height by adding something like umbrella palm, pickerel rush, thalia. You could do some floating-type plants like duckweed, azolla, parrots feather.
You could also do some Louisiana iris. So many possibilities!

Very nice, especially for a flat yard. I agree there are many possibilities for full sun. Lots more than my shade and you won't need to dredge up leaves.

I love the sweet potato vines that "soften" the edges -- good job! As already mentioned, there are lots of things that will grow in the sun, so you will have fun. :-) Another floating plant, water hyacinth (if it's not illegal in SC) loves the heat.

I have water lilies in my pond and it is full sun and they are spectacular!!!!

Island Sundog.. nice looking pond. In addition to what has already been suggested for floating plants, I also like frog bit. It is like little lily pads that float on the surface and they sometimes have flowers that look like white spiders on their backs with the legs sticking up.
