Here they are in full growth. Image hosting by Photobucket

BTW, I think the welded wire with posts could work. Just don't plant as thickly as I did, say 6 inches apart at least.

Wow Glenda!! Yep...that's about how mine looked until they toppled over. I planted three beans around each of the 4 poles and then thinned to one (keeping the largest and most robust one). Mine even vined along the connecting horizontal poles of course my teepees were only four feet high not six. How many quarts of beens did you get out of that mess-o-beans? Yummmmm!

That is exactly what I want to do at the corners of my sunporch. I have herbs tucked in next to it and I thought a vine with yummies on it would look pretty through the windows.
I mixed my BES with my mint and basil and thyme. Right at the corner (out of sight, darn) I would put the first teepee.
Thanks for posting this.

Georgeanne, I love the planting and the birdbath! I know the rudbeckia, but what are the two plants to the left?

I have no idea how many beans I got. It is just the two of us now, so I don't plan very carefully. This year I am going back to my favorite from Park called Kwintus. I think it makes in 55 days. Those are Ky. Wonders.

gld-
Lemon mint is the one in the back left and either a sweet basil or a thyme has the little white flowers. They're all prolific so they keep each other under control. Some of my chives are out of range on the far right but they obviously wanted in the picture.

Georgeann, I have that very same birdbath. It's the cutest. I might have to copy your design as I think it looks great w/the herbs. Mine is next to a Buff Beauty rose. I have borage mixed it w/it.

I LOVE that picture! I love the way beans look growing on a teepee...
