 o
potager garden on a hillside?

Hi,

I'm new to Garden Web and fairly new to gardening. We have a sloped backyard that needs quite a bit of landscaping. I'd like to put in some raised beds with veggies, herbs and flowers close to the deck so that I can easily access the beds for cooking. Unfortunately we have limited sunlight in only one area of the yard, alongside the fence. I'm guessing I'll be able to put in 3 or 4 narrow beds along this fence.

I'm looking for layout ideas and examples of potagers in a sloped yard. Does anyone have examples or ideas to share? I'm also curious about what people have growing in their beds during the winter?

Thanks for any information. I'm new to all of this and just gathering ideas and hoping to learn from all of you more experienced gardeners!

Thanks!

I have a slope too, and would love to do the same thing. I hope you get some input here.

Raised beds are the way to go or terrace your beds. Being on a slope can be good for good for drainage.
