| Per a request made on my Year 2 post I'm posting the pics I took when I first built my potager. I built the potager in the midst of the building boom and was able to pick up a huge quantity of 2x12 boards from a builder for super cheap. I joined the boards with short 2x4 cedar. I also ran cedar 2x4s to strengthen the sides:
I first turned over the grass of the lawn so the dirt was facing up. Then I laid down newspaper 2 sheets thick, overlapping one page of the two page spread. That made a 4 page thickness throughout.
Then I put dirt down on top - I had ordered a truckload of topsoil before.
