New to potager

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to potager gardening, really gardening in general. We just got our garden finished. I've been looking at your pictures and they all look like my dream gardens! I don't have a lot of space (here in CA most people don't). This is my first year and I am working with a blank slate, we finished remodeling our house two summers ago, last summer we had a baby, so nothing has been done.
