Homestead Purple verbena.....obviously purple

Gaillardia 'Arizona Sun' or 'Goblin' Both are 10-12". Tuscan-y colors of yellow on the outside of the petals and orangy red at the centers.

The 'Kiss' Gazanias. Mixed solid colors of yellow, oranges and reds. These are 10-12" also.

Some of the Lantanas.....

I am assuming you want something that can take all day sun and the summer heat and still look good, as well as blooming at the same time as the cannas.

I'd suggest Black PEarl Peppers or any pepper that has dark purple leaves. marcy is right. Purple looks wonderful with tropicana cannas. If you want something more permanent, purple barberry or a small loropetalum (Purple Pixie or Purple Diamond) would be great with this plant too.
