Oh my!!! What a beauty! Every single time I see any pics of your garden I just swoon. It's going to be even MORE special this year, I can tell!
So far the only stuff I have in bloom in the potager area are the perennials in my foundation bed (azalea, bleeding heart, tulips just gone over, asiatic lilies, lily of the valley, etc.--the rest of it is still so new!

Congrats on your pretty baby! I'm guessing that this is papaver orientalis? I have them in red and the only problem is that they are in full sun and so they, like thin silk, get burned up in only 1 day. I hope yours last longer.

Right now mine are big fuzzy buds and since this weekend is due to be rainy then cold-plus-sun, they probably won't open until late next week.

I love poppies. I think they're deer-resistant too. I never got to start the poppy seeds I bought in March. But, what I do have blooming are chives, catmint, blueberries and chamomile. The yarrow and lavender are very close to opening too.

I also have a plant my neighbor gave me that has tiny little blue flowers. It is spreading like crazy which I'm happy about. The neighbor couldn't remember what is was called so I'll probably have to do a little google picture search.

I grew corn poppies from seed sowed last fall. They just finished blooming. They weren't near as pretty as yours and since down here they're annuals I probably won't bother growing them again.

That's so exciting! I have three that I'm waiting to see bloom. I've seen several blooming in my area, but mine haven't yet (big fuzzy buds still!). It's my first time growing them, too. What an ephemeral garden treat, I think.

I love poppies, my first year growing them, started from seed too. I only planted a few, but they are the field or corn poppy, leaves are different from yours. No blooms yet on poppies, but have a few on my peas just now and have a few buds about to be ready to bloom on my pumpkins and straight neck yellow squash. They plants are way too small I thought, but they are covered in the little things.

The prettiest color there is. What an eye-catcher!
