No, no, no...well a little. LOL. The potager is very much of a meditative, personal space for me. I love having my morning coffee at the little cafe table I have in there, or simply sitting on the stone edge of one of the beds to admire the nasturtium flower that surprised me this morning.

My 6.5 year old thinks it's an awesome place to leap and run and drive his much more low-key, peace-needing mother bonkers! He does love his mint and his magic strawberries--when he occasionally slows down long enough to pick them.

I've given a few people tours, and most seem to admire it, but few truly "get" it. It's totally for my own enjoyment, and I share it as I must share the last bite of my dessert with my little boy. As a mom, I do it willingly, but sometimes I secretly want that bite for myself!

I believe my family is a little afraid to visit me in my garden since I've been doing so many changes to it this season. They seem to hover about 10 feet outside the work zone if they need to get me.

I can usually lure my 11yo. out for some bug hunting and milk weed pulling. He is an excellent tracker/destroyer of undesirables.

Altogether, I don't really mind the lack of visits. Having the potager is so rewarding because I have total control over it and its so peaceful in its out of the way location.

I do! My neighbors know they are welcome to snip some herbs or harvest some veggies any time they'd like. Friends who share my gardening passion love to stroll through periodically to see what's growing. I do the same in their gardens. That said, I completely understand the need for a serene place to call your own. We are empty nesters now, so our household is pretty calm and quiet most days.
